Join the campaigns to bring our favorite stories back to life! There is always something going on. The goal is to get our stories continued, even if it must be alongside the new canon in a separate continuity. Plenty of other franchises do this successfully without confusion. We can too. But this is a long term goal. In order to do this we need to show it’s still profitable and still in demand. Their are those who work (or worked) for the Disneyfied Lucasfilm that flat out said they expect the Expanded Universe to be forgotten. But that only happens if the next generation never discovers these stories.
Goals are:
- Have the Expanded Universe re-recognized as it’s own separate canon
- Have the out of print stories reprinted. This includes the young adult books especially.
- Have out of print cartoons and movies such as Droids and Ewoks re released, preferably on physical media. Yes, they are on Disney Plus. But if its on streaming they control it and they can take it away on a whim.
“There’s always time for the important things. The trick is to recognize the need, and to create the necessary time.”

This isn’t just about canon. It’s about unfinished story arcs and promised stories cancelled due to the Disney take over. You get to end of a novel or comic and … nothing. No ending. Because they took it away. Take Action.
About the Organizations:

Twin Suns Foundation’s donates Star Wars Expanded Universe books to children in hospitals and libraries. Find out more on their donate page. Their previous Fundraiser Drives were a huge success and so was their table at Star Wars Celebration in 2017 and 2019. These are the same people behind the billboard project. You can also check out more details on their projects on their Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram.
The Billboard Project!
This BILLBOARD Project That Made a Difference!
Check out the press release!
The billboard was up for a month and additional money left over from the fundraising went to purchase new Expanded Universe books for libraries.
Until the billboard, no one seemed to hear the fans, no response came to either social media or writing campaigns. With the billboard, Expanded Universe fans finally got noticed by more of the mainstream media. Fans who wrote letters finally got a response.
While the response wasn’t what we wanted and gave evidence they could placate us with ‘integration’ it did prove we were now on the radar. Unfortunately the Give Us Legends domain name on the billboard was hijacked. However you can now find the founders under the above mentioned Twin Suns Foundation address. Recently they did a second billboard campaign with two billboards. Sadly due to real world events that affected everyone (and I do mean worldwide) this didn’t make as big an impact.
Successes
Star Wars the Old Republic continues after the original contract ends.
This was not an official campaign. The game is still popular but many failed to realize that it is purely Expanded Universe and doesn’t fit Disney canon at all. (Some probably still don’t realize it!) It has continued to release expansions based on the Expanded Universe. But it’s guaranteed that Disney has not forgotten that it is part of a story they wanted to cancel and cannot be incorporated. The fear was real that it would be cancelled when the contract was up. Well the contract has run out. The developers have assured us with it’s huge 10th anniversary celebration that they still have future story plans. Major changes to combat styles and new story were added. Granted it hits some hurdles, it was an ambitious project. But all indications are it still is going to continue. I’ve no doubt this is due to the money it draws it from subscribers and it’s dedicated player base.
Hasbro Released New Expanded Universe figures
Granted this isn’t THAT great news. We have gotten new figures and that is great. They were lazy about it and that isn’t. Some are just repaints and repacks. Others were completely wrong. For instance, the supposed Anniversary figure Carnor Jax is painted to look like Kir Kanos. Mostly. The Gaming Greats line has great potential. But first they have to realize the Greats of the games were the heroes (whatever the side) not the multitude of stormtroopers and the like that they can just repaint and slap a new label on. To be fair though, this is Hasbro in general. It isn’t limited to Expanded Universe figures.
FUNKO Pop Released Expanded Universe figures
There haven’t been many but they have done a few nice POP for game characters. The trouble is they too don’t seem to want to focus on the heroes such as Kyle Katarn or Dash Rendar, and would rather just do a fancy guy in the armor. But at least we got something. But my Shadow Guard wants a Starkiller to spar with!
Star Wars Games re-released for Nintendo Switch
There is a growing list of games adding to this newer system. While the games have been around for a long time for PC, XBox and Playstations, and in some cases even IOS, this is an all new port for Switch.
