Who survived Order 66

Knightfall, also known as Order 66 wasn’t the end of all the Jedi. It was the end of the temple and the Jedi Council. It was the end of the organization. But we know from the original trilogy that not every Jedi was caught in the initial slaughter at the temple, or even leading clones. They were hunted and hid in exile. Some even lived to see the end of the Emperor. So what did Yoda mean when he said Luke was the last?

“A young Jedi named Darth Vader, who was a pupil of mine until he turned to evil, helped the Empire hunt down and destroy the Jedi Knights. He betrayed and murdered your father. Now the Jedi are all but extinct. Vader was seduced by the dark side of the Force.” – Obi-Wan Kenobi

Episode 4, Star Wars, A New Hope

You don’t need to hunt people that are all dead. The Temple massacre was just that, not a hunt but a slaughterhouse. The clones for the most part turned on the Jedi, meaning most Jedi leading armies were killed. The key words being most, and leading armies. A few survived.

Received a coded retreat message, we have. – Yoda

Well, then we must go back! If there are other stragglers, they will fall into the trap and be killed. – Obi-Wan

Episode 3 Star Wars Revenge of the Sith

Yoda knew that the only way to escape the Empire was to escape into exile, or cease being a Jedi. He had felt the deaths of many Jedi, but the only way for the Jedi to survive was to learn to hide their presence from force sensitive hunters. In so doing, they were hiding their presence even from other Jedi. Even if any others lived, only one, Luke, had any hope of defeating Darth Vader.

When gone am I, the last of the Jedi will you be. – Yoda

Episode 6 Star Wars Return of the Jedi

Yet in comics, games and books we see that other Jedi did survive. They were hunted, harried, yet some survived even long enough to see a New Republic. So who survived Order 66 and for how long?

They Live! Maybe?

Jedi who Survived through New Republic Era

This is no guarantee how long they made, but they survived the critical hunt of the Imperial years!

Good news! These outlived the Emperor!

The Mystery Deaths

These are hard to place. Where do you think they fit?

Not the last of the old Jedi, Luke, but the first of the new.” – Obi-Wan’s spirit proclaims in Heir to the Empire.

Though I am loath to admit it… Wookiepedia, because I don’t own EVERYTHING, some of it is hard to find and obscenely expensive. There is a pre canon tab archive of the Order 66 wookieepedia link, but it doesn’t list the Jedi who survived in an easy-to-read manner.
