Imperial Agent Jahan Cross as an Alderaanian who served the Empire under Emperor Palpatine, because he truly believed it brought order to chaos. He was a highly skilled agent, who went to the Imperial Military Academy and probably could’ve been a fighter pilot if he chosen too.
Note: Spoilers for the Agent of the Empire comics, beware!
Cross had whitish hair, a trim strong build. He was quite athletic and had done Garbage Pit racing in his youth. He was an excellent pilot. He graduated the Imperial Academy, a year or so ahead of Han Solo.
Jahan often used prototype items, including In-Ga, a human replica droid that didn’t have the synthaflesh add on to look more human. In-Ga was decked out with rocket boots and lasers. Her loyalty to Jahan Cross was hard wired.
Jahan Cross served under Imperial Security Chief Armand Isard. Isard wasn’t thrilled with Jahan Cross’s recklessness. More than one death occurred when Cross was forced to kill someone he was investigating, and these people had powerful friends. Often Cross infiltrated places using diplomatic credentials.

Cross was involved in stopping Ian Stark from creating a new droid army, via a programming virus. He also visited Sorenno, in an attempt to make sure the Empire’s choice for the next leader of Sorenno was put in charge. This involved some clever manuevering, as Jahan Cross, while cold blooded in believing the Empire and killing it’s foes, was unwilling to cross the line to getting a child in line for leadership killed.
Relationships
While he had friends, he wasn’t close to his father Davim Cross. The man was a diplomat under the Old Republic, and continues as one in the Empire. His mother and sister Jenns died when Coruscant was attacked by General Grievous. Cross blames the Jedi for his families deaths, particularly his sister. He based this on the lie Palpatine told the galaxy that the Jedi were behind the Clone Wars.
Jahan Cross was also a friend of sorts with Han Solo, and possibly Soontir Fel. At least, they were all in the academy together and he assisted Han when he was having Espo Security police problems and hired Solo at least once to transport him during a mission.
Jahan was also familiar with and apparently friends with Princess Leia Organa and Winter in their younger years, both of whom had a bit of a crush on them when they were young teens. He was acquainted with Bail Organa as well.
Alessi Quon, a Sluissi scientist, is one he has a working relationship with. Alessi developed the In-Ga droid that was a useful ally during his missions. He is aware of Alessi’s secrets, which the Empire might get in the way of, and Alessi is aware of some of his adventures that Jahan’s bosses wouldn’t approve of.
Stories with Jahan Cross
Jahan Cross only appears in Agent for the Empire: Iron Eclipse, and Imperial Agent: Hard Targets.
This is a shame, as Cross was a smart guy and already fairly well rounded. How would he have reacted to the destruction of his home world of Alderaan? Given how he got into places and found information people didn’t want found, it would been interesting to see him stumble on evidence who was really behind the Clone Wars too. He was already seeing things that made him wonder in Hard Targets.
His foe Ian Stark, who he pursued, was in Star Wars comics the Stark Hyperspace War arc. That particular adventure of Jahan’s also crosses over with Han Solo’s time in the Corporate Sector from the Han Solo Adventures by Brian Daley
