This game I played on the XBox and really enjoyed it. Jedi Starfighter is a sequel to Starfighter, so in addition to flying as Jedi Master Adi Gallia, you also fly Nym’s ship, as in the previous game. It’s set right before and during the Clone Wars.
Jedi Starfighter Introduction
Adi-Gallia and Saesee Tiin test out the new Jedi starfighter, the Delta-7 Aethersprite sometime before the Clone Wars. Naturally it ends up being tested in real battle and an uneasy alliance is formed between the pirate Nym and the Jedi.
My take on Jedi Starfighter:
It’s a bit weird to me that you have force powers using the controls of the starfighter, but then it is a video game after all. The story is pretty good too though I found jumping between the Jedi Starfighter and the Havoc a bit more disconcerting in this than in the original Starfighter. I did have a lot of fun.

The Missions of Jedi Starfighter (Levels)
Adi is sent to aid a sector the Trade Federation, along with our old friend Nym from the original Starfighter game. She is initially escorted there and runs into trouble with another old friend, Rheti, the Toydarian. (Level 2) They have to fight there way through.
On reaching Nym’s base, the Feeorin pirate is none too happy to see them but as they are under attack from both sea and sky he is in no position to complain! Adi helps take out the enemy.
Next we hit a prison to rescue a resistance member, Captain Orsai, and steal codes, but it seems to be run from by the Trade Federation, not the Republic. In this, we fly Nym’s ship the Havoc.
Then we hit the planet Maramere where Adi splits off from Nym to save a a city, Point Modie, that is under attack by Hex weapons. Both the main spaceport and hopefully the bonus shelter are under attack and their to save. These Hex weapons are totally banned by the Republic, but the Trade Federation doesn’t much care no do their mercenaries.
Even as Adie is doing this Nym is flying into battle against the Trade Federation mines at Mount Merakan where the trihexalon poison is extracted from the ore. It’s very important to take this out. Ideally, one has to hit all the buildings and stop the cargo ships getting away with the stuff.
We finally get to Geonosis where Captain Toph’s fleet is trying to launch the hex weapons he has against the Jedi there. Adi and Siri have to hold them off. Nym calls with a warning Toph may be coming. After the initial Hex launch ships are destroyed, the serious warships arrive. Fortunately Nym and his fleet also show up to deal with the capital ships as Adi leads the fight against them.
With this, the battle of Geonosis ends. Nym is offered a rank for his efforts but doesn’t want it. Adi is assigned to the Carfax system, Nym’s system, to maintain the working relationship.
In the end we see one of Nym’s people have found Rheti’s trail, but he isn’t responding. I was stunned. Sure Geonosis was major, but I thought I’d get to help rescue him. Or at least hear what happened. But unless its locked behind a bonus level (which I failed to unlock) then there is no indication here.
Jedi Starfighter Continuity and Lore

The Delta 7 Starfighter is a descendant of the design ideas behind the Aurek Class fighters of the Old Republic.
While adopted by the Jedi around 22 ABY, there were civilian variations such as the Delta 6 (Jedi Quest, School of Fear, ) 2 seater Delta 12 Skysprite (Outbound Flight and Survivor’s Quest). The ships require an external ring to dock with for the hyperdrive due to limitations of the tech at the time. Only a few were commissioned with it. Anakin Skywalker of course modified his to include the ability to make at least a one or two jumps. The ships didn’t initially allow for room for a full size astromech. (Trivia bit: real life the various prequel ships did fudge the ability of an R2 unit to fit in the shape and size.)
Characters of Jedi Starfighter
Nym first appeared in Starfighter, the previous game, as did Reti. He also appears in the book Star Wars Galaxies: Ruins of Dantooine and in the MMO Galaxies.
Adi Gallia first appeared in the Jedi Council in The Phantom Menace but has various appearances in the Jedi Apprentice Series, along with her padawan, Siri Tachi. She also is in comics, with the finale being in Obsession. Obsession mentions her ‘pirate friends’ apparently referring to Nym and his crew.
Saesee Tiin who does the training at the start is a Jedi Council member first seen in The Phantom Menace.
Siri Tachi aids her former Master, Adi Gallia, battle in space. We don’t really see her in person. Siri is a recurring character in Jedi Apprentice series, and Secrets of the Jedi, by Jude Watson.
.
Reti is from the original Starfighter. He also happens to know Watto, at least he mentions a certain Toydarian junkyard dealer on Tatooine. Reti also has Jango Fett after him. (All you need during a firefight right?) But I’m really disappointed that nowhere is it mentioned how that turned out! Who put a bounty on him and why? Was he rescued or did he escape?
Like the original Starfighter, the end battle is at Geonosis, during events of Attack of the Clones.
Here is a walkthrough, this one is for Playstation but the missions and goals are the same either way.
Here is a glimpse of the story someone put together of the cut scenes.
