This Jedi is a Mirialin woman who specializes in the rare Jedi Healing arts. She was a contemporary of Anakin Skywalker and born about the same year, 42BBY. She is identifiable by her olive skin and small diamond tattoos across her nose..
Barriss Offee was known to be a bit impulsive, and occasionally preferred using her lightsaber to frustrating diplomacy. Form 3 Soresu was her preferred lightsaber style. One of her preferred methods of meditation was floating meditation. She and her master often practiced their exercises in Coruscant’s rooftop parks rather than just in the Temple. She did have a slightly unusual view of the Force, believing the Force itself was neither light nor dark.
Relationships:
Masters
Master Luminara Unduli (her master)
Stass Allie (training in healing)
Apprentice
Zondar, a Selonian male.
Though Unduli was her Master, Offee also learned under Stass Allie when she joined the Circle of Jedi Healers. Curing disease was her forte, although she was capable enough at surgery.
Along with her Master, Barriss Offee was sent to Ansion to settle a trade dispute. They were soon joined by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker. This gave her opportunity to practice her healing, as she was kidnapped by to hireling Ansionians with mental deficiencies. They were instantly loyal once she healed them of the mental maladies and were a big help in the mission success. She also discovered a smaller, less known Ansionian species, the Gwurran, one of whom Tookqui wanted to come along as a pet! He too, turned out to be a courageous companion.
Barriss served in the Clone Wars at various RIMSOOS such as New Holstice as well as in direct combat and investigation. This included the planet Null, when she and several Jedi were overrun by Bounty Hunters. She managed to survive though Traa Saa, who was with her, was badly injured. Barriss Offee also was assigned to Drongar, ostensibly to help in the RIMSOO, but also to investigate the possibility of a spy.
Barriss Offee discovered that the Bota, the healing substance being fought over on the planet, had astonishing effects on the Force. It was an incredible temptation to misuse it, however, she successfully resisted this temptation. In the end she chose to use it, not for selfish ambition, but to help her uncover the spy.
She was at Ilum, constructing a new lightsaber, when Dook attacked. She and Luminara were able to hold off the collapsing ceiling long enough for Master Yoda on board Senator Amidala’s ship, to come to the rescue.
Barriss continued as a partner with her master throughout the war. Ultimately, however, they finally separated, and she was assigned with her new padawan, Zonder, to Felucia. There they were initially captured, but then rescued.
Barriss Offee was killed on Felucia during Order 66, trying to save the water supply from separatists. The Empire claimed they were trying to poison it. Her padawan, Zonder, escaped at the time.

Merchandise:
Barriss Offee had 3 3/4 inch action figures based on the Attack of the Clones and Revenge of the Sith lines, as well as both cartoon series. She also has a 6″ figure and a 12″ figure. She also has a Star Wars miniature figure. Gentle Giant had a Maquette of her with Luminara. Unfortunately for Funko POP fans, she only has her evil TCW version.
NOTE: The Clone Wars TV series Barriss Offee is not compatible with the rest of the Original Canon. For one thing, she was ‘de-aged’, for another, her fall to the Dark Side is not consistent with her character arcs.
Barriss Offee’s view that the Force itself was neither light nor dark appears to be similar to those of the Potentium offshoot beliefs seen in Rogue Planet by Greg Bear. It is noted in that book that while all of the believers in that ideology left the order, none fell to the dark side.
